Primary Education Problems

Primary Education:
1)Indian Government has laid emphasis on free education for poor families upto the age of 14 years according to RTE ACT.

2)80% schools at the primary level are Government based.but due to shortage of resources and lack of political will these system suffers.

3)27% children are educated in private system.

4)The percentage of untrained teachers (paratechers) is 54.91% in private, compared to 44.88% in government schools and only 2.32% teachers in unaided schools receive inservice training compared to 43.44% for government schools.

5)According to the RTE, all schools, including privately-run schools, irrespective of the board they are affiliated to, have to admit at least 25% students from socially and economically backward families from this academic year (2012-13). These students will be guaranteed free education from class I till they reach the age of 14.

6) I don't know how many of the Private schools will follow it, and who is going to check whether they are following or not.

7)According to the RTE ACT all the Private schools should allow the backward children to seat in their main classes, instead of running separate classes.

8)I am not here to speak about the higher education but let me give you some stats to it::25% of its population is still illiterate; only 15% of Indian students reach high school, and just 7%, of the 15% who make it to high school, graduate. 25% of teaching positions nationwide are vacant, and 57% of college professors lack either a master's or PhD degree.

9)Today, government rural schools remain poorly funded and understaffed.this need to be looked up.
